Reminder: Girls Track Tryouts are tomorrow after school! Must have a signed permission slip to participate.

Due to the threat of potential high wind and thunderstorms, the Second Harvest Food Distribution scheduled for today has been moved to next Thursday April 18. The distributions will be scheduled for the same times at Cherokee and Volunteer High School. There is no need to reregister. If you have any questions, please contact the Family Resource Center at 272-7629 ext. 2056

The 5th and 6th Grade Boys County Track Tryouts are tomorrow, Wed. April 10th after school until 4:30pm at CHMS. If it rains they will be in the CHIS gym. Student must have a signed permission slip to stay for tryouts. The county track meet will be May 6th at Volunteer High School.

Calling all 5th Grade Parents! We will have a parent meeting at 3:30 on April 23 to discuss ways you might get more involved with the great things happening at CHIS! House Games have been moved back to 1:30 this afternoon at CHIS to make sure we have plenty of time for all of the BIG ANNOUNCEMENTS and wonderful activities we have planned! Parents, we would love for you to come out and cheer on your HOUSE!!!!

Important Reminder: Permission slips for the 6th Grade 4-H Trip (April 8) are due April 2 and money is due by April 5. Some scholarships are available for those that need help. Students who do not attend school that day will be counted absent.

Mrs. Chapman is seeking parent volunteers for Health Class next week (April 1-4, 8:30am-11am) to assist with pizza and fruit smoothie making during Related Arts. Please contact the school or message Mrs. Chapman directly if you are available to help. Thank you!

Hawkins County School District is excited to offer Summer Learning Camps again this summer for our students who will be Rising 1st-9th graders. Summer Learning Camp will take place for four weeks, four days a week, between May 28 - June 20 from 7:30 - 2:30 p.m. This camp is part of the Tennessee Learning Loss Remediation and Student Acceleration Act (SB7002/HB7004) and will focus on rising 1st-grade students through rising 9th-grade students. Priority students identified by T.C.A. 49-6-3115 will be prioritized for enrollment in Summer Camps. Parents will be notified of acceptance before the start of summer camp. Transportation will be made available daily. Breakfast and lunch will be served as part of the program


Hawkins County Schools will release all schools early on Monday, April 8. Please be aware that buses will begin to take students home at 12:30 pm due to the shortened schedule.

Online Applications will open on March 25, 2024
Voluntary Pre-K offers educational, social, and emotional development opportunities for students in Hawkins County. Students completing VPK are better prepared for the success throughout their school career.
Voluntary Pre-K is available to children whose birthdays fall between August 16, 2019 and August 15, 2020. Spaces are limited and income qualifications apply. Additional inclusive early childhood opportunities are available for preschoolers who do not meet the income requirements. The Office of Early Childhood will begin processing applications request on March 25, 2024 at www.hck12.net.
