
Hawkins County Schools will operate on a two hour delay, Wednesday, January 15, 2025. While the majority of main and secondary roads are safe for student travel, some roads and portions of routes remain covered with snow and ice. Buses will not travel on covered roads.

Due to winter weather advisory, Hawkins County Schools, will operate on a two hour delay for Friday, November 22.


Hawkins County Schools Family Resource Center is hosting a food and hygiene drive at the upcoming football game between Cherokee and Volunteer on October 25, 2024, at Volunteer High School. The drive aims to support local Hawkins County families in need by collecting essential items.
The first 100 fans for each team to donate will receive a complimentary rubber wristband in their school colors.
Donations can include non-perishable food items (canned spaghetti, mac and cheese, peanut butter and crackers, ramen noodles, cereal, etc.) and/or hygiene products (shampoo, conditioner, soap, lotions, cleaning supplies, etc.).

Local School Systems provides services for special needs children and young adults, ages 3 years to 21 years, who reside within the system’s district.
If you have or know children who are currently not being served, please contact Hawkins County Special Education Department at 423-272-7629 ext. 2405.
Public Notice:
The Hawkins County School District can receive designated funds each year from the federal government. To provide service once agreed upon to students who are eligible to receive special education services. These services include students who are currently being homeschooled or attend a private school in Hawkins County and are eligible for Special Education. The Hawkins County district is required to meet with the administrators of private institutions or parents who are currently home-schooling their children to discuss what services can be provided.
Our private school and notice for disabilities meeting is scheduled for October 10th, 2024 at 9:00 am at the Special Education Building, 200 North Depot Street Rogersville.

4:00 - All Homecoming Princesses AND escorts come to the 7/8 gym for pictures. Parents may stay with them. After getting photo, you may leave.
4:30 - All Football Players to Field House. Gates will open for game.
5:30 - All Homecoming Court participants go back to the gym to get lined up. NO OTHERS ALLOWED.
6:00 - KICKOFF!!!
HALF TIME (6:45ish) - Football players who are escorting will go to join the Homecoming Court, lining up at the end of the field. Court will line the field, getting pictures. All members of the court will be introduced. Queen and runners up will be announced.
AFTER CEREMONY - Homecoming court members are released to parents in the crowd.
7:00 - An announcement will be made that the dance will begin. Admission is $3, and students will enter through the gate near the field house. Football players will join the dance after the game.
DANCE - Will be in CHMS 7/8 Cafeteria. ONLY STUDENTS IN 7TH OR 8TH GRADE ARE ALLOWED TO ATTEND. CONCESSIONS WILL BE SOLD.
9:30 - ALL STUDENTS WILL BE BROUGHT BACK TO THE FRONT GATE OF THE FOOTBALL STADIUM TO BE RELEASED. PARENTS MAY WAIT IN CARS OR PARK IN THE LOT AND STAND AT THE GATE TO PICK THEM UP. ALL STUDENTS MUST BE PICKED UP BY 9:45 OR RISK NOT BEING ALLOWED TO COME TO FUTURE DANCES OR EVENTS.
We appreciate all parents and friends who want to help with cleanup after the game or dance. It will be a long day, but we hope students will enjoy and make memories that last a lifetime!
