Ms. Lane

Born in Kingsport, TN, Ms. Lane grew up in the Tri-Cities area.  After living in the Sevierville/Jefferson/Knoxville areas for 14 years, she recently moved back to the Tri-Cities to be closer to her family and friends.  She enjoys all things outdoors-kayaking, biking, hiking, and jeeping. 

Ms. Lane's teaching philosophy is all children deserve an education and should be given the opportunity to be successful regardless of background, circumstance, or current academic level.

Hello, my name is Jessica Drinnon, and I am thrilled to be able to fill in for Ms. Lane while she has this special time with her baby. I graduated from Tusculum University in the spring of 2018 with a B.A. in K-5 Interdisciplinary Studies (Elementary Ed.), and a grade(s) (4-8) add on certification. I have served in various roles throughout Hawkins County Schools, including 5 years at Surgoinsville Elementary as the Reading Interventionist, and one year as the 7th Grade E.L.A. teacher at Surgoinsville Middle School. 

Growing up, I lived throughout the country, but for the last 19 years, my husband Bobby and I have lived in Surgoinsville. We have one son, Hunter, who is a recent graduate of the 2020 class of V.H.S.  This year will be new territory for everyone, but I look forward to getting it off to a great start with the 6th grade students at C.H.I.S.
